2 detained in weapons missing case

SRINAGAR, May 8: As the three Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of a National Conference leader in South Kashmir district of Shopian are being questioned for their missing weapons, Police today detained two persons for questioning.
Police sources said that Tariq Hassan Mantoo son of Ghulam Hassan Mantoo of Hanjipora village and Bilal Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir of village Kachdora in Shopian were detained by police for questioning in the case of two weapons that went missing from an NC leader’s house in village Kachdora in Shopian.
Three Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of a National Conference leader, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh brother of former MLA Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh were arrested last month after two of their weapons went missing from the NC leaders highly guarded house at Kachdora.
It may be mentioned here that two AK-47 rifles, 6 magazines and 180 rounds of ammunition of the PSOs of the NC leader went missing from the house of the NC leader last month.
