JAMMU, Nov 12: Two burglars have been arrested along with stolen items worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by TK Sharma, Manager PNB Bank Shastri Nagar stating that during the intervening night of October 23 and 24, some unknown persons entered into the bank and when they were unable to break the cash lockers, they decamped with computer accessories of the bank.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 234/18 under section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, two suspects were picked up, who during questioning, confessed their involvement in the theft case.
Both the suspects identified as Daniel Masih, son of Prem Masih and Vishal Fernandes, son of Bikramjeet, both residents of Amritsar Punjab, at present Valmiki Colony Jammu.
They were also involved in a case registered under FIR Number 245/18 under section 457 and 380 RPC with Police Station Gandhi Nagar, in which they had stolen mobile phones and accessories from M/s New Ways Mobile Shop at Pawan Chowk Gandhi Nagar. The accused had also attempted to break two ATMs at Gandhi Nagar and Nanak Nagar.
On their disclosure, stolen property including mobile phones, monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers worth lakhs of rupees were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Rohit Bhagat and SI Sandeep Chauhan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
