REASI, Apr 5: In a tragic incident, two teenaged brothers drowned after they accidentally slipped in a pond filled with rain water at Sai near Talwara, here this evening.
The duo, identified as Riyaz Ahmed (18), son of Mohd Munshi and his brother Zakir Hussain (16), were grazing cattle when one of them accidentally slipped into water. In attempt to rescue his brother, the other also jumped in water and both of them drowned.
Hearing their screams for help, some people reached the spot but could not rescue them. Later, their bodies were fished out and shifted to hospital for postmortem.
