Srinagar, Aug 5: Two boys were killed and another was critically injured after some explosive material went off in Manasbal area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district this afternoon after these boys were roaming around after no teacher was present in the school.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganderbal, Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, told Excelsior that three boys got hold of some explosive material in Babsolina village of Manasbal.
“Basically, this place is near to a stone quarry and these boys got hold of the explosive material meant for blasting. They started to play with it on hard surface and as a result it went off resulting in critical injuries to them,” he said, adding, one of the boys instantly died. One of the two injured boys later succumbed to his injuries at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.
The SP identified the deceased as 14-year old Adil Ahmad Reshi and Shakir Ahmad Reshi. The injured has been identified as Muzamil Ahmad Reshi, who is currently admitted at SKIMS and his condition is stated to be critical.
The SP Ganderbal said that police have registered a case in this regard and probe has been initiated.
Reports said that there are four teachers posted in the school out of whom one teacher was on leave and three ReTs had come to Srinagar to take part in protest that was held in Srinagar.
People have demanded stern action against these teachers for criminal neglect.
