JAMMU, Apr 10: Police today arrested a bovine smuggler and rescued two bovines animals from his possession.
According to a police spokesman, a police team of police station Nagrota intercepted a Mahindra Balero bearing registration number JK02BE-6365 at Bamyal Morh, NHW Jagti, while on naka duty.
“On search of the vehicle, two bovine animals were found, which the accused was carrying illegally”, he said, adding the accused identified as Niyaz Ali son of Rehim Baksh, a resident of Shabanu (Reasi) was arrested on the spot and the bovines animals rescued.
In this connection, a case FIR No 84/2016 under Section 188 RPC was registered and investigation taken up.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team led by SHO Nagrota, Inspector Karan Chalotra under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Bharat Bhushan Sharma.
