RAJOURI, June 6: Two baratis were crushed to death by a truck near Sunderbani while six pilgrims were injured when a Tata Sumo skidded and over turned near Pir- ki-Gali on Mughal Road today.
Police said two young members of a marriage party were killed on the spot and another critically injured when their bike ( JK02AB/9957) was hit by a truck near Thanda Pani in Sunderbani area this evening. They were identified as Vijay Kumar (22), son of Parmanand and Ravinder Kumar (16), son of Pritam Lal, both residents of Balshama near Sundrbani. The third bike rider Vijay Kumar (26), son of Sardar Chand, resident of Jourian was critically injured and was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu from Sunderbani.
The truck driver fled away along with vehicle from the accident spot. The police registered a case in this connection and started search for the vehicle and its driver. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to mortuary of Sunderbani Hospital.
Meanwhile, six persons were injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration No JK-11/6234 skidded off the road and over turned due to slippery road condition at Shailla near Pir ki Gali at 3 pm. The vehicle was on its way to a Ziarat at Lar in Shopian from Thana Mand in Rajouri.
The police party reached the spot and shifted all the injured to Surankote Hospital. They were identified as Mohd Shakeel, son of Mohd Rashid, Mohd Sadiq, son of Mir Mohd, Roshan Din, son of Mohd Din, Yasmeen (10), daughter of Hassan Din, Abdul Aziz and Mohd Javed, son of Mohd Bashir, all hailing from Thannamandi. The Police has taken cognizance of the matter.
