RAJOURI, June 1: The police nabbed two persons for the smuggling of bovine animals and seized a vehicle in Thannamandi area of Rajouri today.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Station Thannamandi led by Probationary DySP Ahtesham Ahmed Khan laid a special naka near Mangota Morh following specific intelligence inputs. During the operation a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Registration Number JK12B 6463 was intercepted.
During checking four bovine animals were found cruelly crammed inside the vehicle in violation of animal welfare norms. Two persons involved in the illegal transportation were arrested on the spot. In this regard FIR No 75/2025 has been registered under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Thannamandi.
