2 arrested with 10 kgs poppy straw

JAMMU, Feb 21: Jhajjar Kotli police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons and recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and intercepted an Innova car coming from Srinagar towards Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of two persons traveling in the vehicle.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mandeep Kumar, son of Madan Lal and Sanjeev Kumar, son of Radhe Sham, both residents of Jallandhar, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 13/18 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Yashbeer Singh, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
