RAMBAN, June 14: Two Army jawans were killed after a vehicle they were traveling in, rolled down in the gorge near Digdool area of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, an Army vehicle was on its way to Leh from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into a 500-metre deep gorge near Digdool, resulting into death of two army jawans. The vehicle was part of a convoy heading towards Leh.
After getting information, police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector, Pardeep Sharma rushed to the spot, retrieved the bodies and shifted them to District Hospital for autopsy.
The deceased have been identified as Inderjeet Singh (driver), son of Sohan Singh, a resident of Deoli, tehsil Bishnah and Vipin Kumar, son of Jagdish Singh of Uttar Pradesh.
A case under FIR number 82/16 under Section 304-a RPC has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation taken up.
