2 absconders arrested

JAMMU, Oct 15: Police today arrested two absconders from different areas of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, Domana Police apprehended an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the last seven years and was involved in a shootout case at Paloura.
He said, in the year 2005, Sanjay Kumar alias Neetu, Janak Singh alias Janka and two others opened fire on Rashpal Singh alias Palla and six others, when they were returning after attending Court at Paloura. In the incident, Rashpal and others escaped unhurt, he added.
A case under FIR number 50/2005 under Sections 307, 34, 382 RPC, 3/25, 7/25 Arms Act was registered in Police Station Domana and investigation started.
The accused persons Janka and Sanjay could not be traced where as chargesheet was presented in the Court of law against Ashok Kumar and Harnam Dass of Bhure Chak, Phalain Mandal, Satwari.
After hectic efforts, Domana Police party led by SHO Vijay Choudhary arrested absconder Janak Singh from Domana area, who was evading his arrest for the past seven years, spokesman added.
He said that Janka also remained in news when he along with others killed another gangster Billu in District Jail Amphala.
Meanwhile, on specific inputs, police party from Ramban Police Station arrested an absconder namely Kaka Ram, son of Ram Lal of Dansal, Udhampur from Transport Nagar, Jammu, here today.
The absconder was evading his arrest for the past 25 years and was involved in a case under Section 279, 337, 304-A RPC, registered at Police Station Ramban, spokesman added.
Despite efforts, he could not be traced out and subsequently, Ramban Police approached the Court and declared him as proclaimed offender”, he added.
During the course of searches, information was received regarding his presence in the Transport Nagar following which a special team constituted by SP Ramban Anil Magotra.
The team conducted a raid at Transport Nagar, Jammu and arrested the absconder.
