JAMMU, Feb 9: Saraz Civil Society organized the 1st ever annual Sarazi Samajik Sammelan at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, today.
The event was aimed to celebrate and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Saraz community, which primarily resides in the districts of Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar. The Sammelan featured a series of vibrant cultural performances by prominent artists from these regions, showcasing the traditional art, music, and language of the Saraz community.
Members of the Saraz community from all over Jammu region including students studying in Jammu and those families migrated to Jammu city, participated in the function, providing a platform to them to reconnect with their roots and traditions.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the Saraz Civil Society emphasized their continuous efforts since 2014-15 to preserve and promote the art, culture, and linguistic heritage of the Saraz community.
The event witnessed a large gathering of community members, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts, fostering a greater appreciation for the unique heritage of Saraz. The programme strengthened the bonds within the community and encouraged the younger generations to take pride in their cultural legacy.
