19 riders complete Razdan Top Expedition

JAMMU, July 15: Jammu and Kashmir Mountain Biking Association (JKMBA) conducted an 84 kilometers biking expedition from Bandipora to Razdan Top and return involving 19 riders of Kashmir at an altitude of 11,672 ft.
Razdan Top, also known as Razdan Pass, crosses through highest meadow in the journey and is a perfect recreation spot with tall pine trees rising majestically on the ridges.
The event was organised to promote adventure sports besides supporting save forest cause.
Earlier, the riders were flagged off at Bandipora by secretary general of Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation, Maqsood Misri, who also completed the ride. He congratulated the riders for taking part in the event.
He said, “The prevalence of rampant drug abuse needs to be addressed by one and all to save our future generations and our society. Sports will keep away youth from indulging in such menace. He appreciated JKMBA for such event and said adventure activities are important part of life which should be promoted”.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Amin Lone of Ganderbal was declared as the ‘disciplined rider’ for showing his sportsmanship, team work and leadership qualities during the expedition.
At the end, JKMBA vice president, Mushtaq Wani thanked the district administration Bandipora, Forest Department and other people for support in making the expedition a success.
