19 CRPF men injured in road mishap

SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Atleast 19 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a road accident in Kaigam area of Budgam district today.
According to officials, the driver lost control on a truck carrying personnel from the 181 Battalion in the Kaigam area of Budgam.

“The truck carrying personnel from CRPF’s 181-F Company went out of control and fell into a gorge. 19 CRPF personnel were injured. A rescue team arrived at the scene immediately and shifted the injured personnel to a hospital in Charar-i-Sharief for treatment,” they said.
“Nine of the injured have been referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment. Doctors have reported that two of the injured personnel have sustained serious injuries.”
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a private car was hit by an oil tanker in the Mammar area on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, about 42 kilometers from Srinagar, resulting in one death and two injuries. Officials stated that the driver of the private car was attempting to overtake a line of slow-moving vehicles when the car collided head-on with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.
The police have registered a case regarding the incident. The two injured occupants of the car were treated at a local hospital and later discharged. The deceased was seated in the front seat of the car.
