UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: Udhampur Police today rescued 18 bovines and seized two vehicles, which were being used for smuggling the animals.
13 bovines were rescued from a Truck bearing registration number JK08C-2906 which was seized by Police at Chenani nakapoint. Driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot after leaving behind his vehicle on road.
In this regard, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chenani.
One more bovine smuggling attempt was foiled when a team of Police Post Tikri intercepted a Tata Mobile, bearing registration number JK14H-6958. Five bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle.
Police also seized the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Sahil Ahmed, son of Mohd Ashraf of Qazigund. In this regards, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
