JAMMU, Feb 10: Police rescued 18 bovine animals and arrested two persons from Darab area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gadigarh police post.
As per police sources, a team from Gadigarh police post laid a naka at Darab and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK02AJ 4071 and JK02AH 7486.
During checking, police rescued 18 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested the drivers, who have been identified as Yashpaul Sharma, son of Chunni Lal Sharma of Solki, tehsil Kalakote, District Rajouri and Mohammad Yousaf, son of Mohammad Suleiman of Hansi Bhatt, District Reasi.
They were trying to smuggle the bovines to Valley and even escaped from the spot along with the vehicle, but the cops foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 30/16 has been registered at police station Satwari and investigation started.
Police team led by incharge police post Gadigarh Shouket Khan made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
