16 bovines rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Apr 14: Police rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, a team from police station Nagrota laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK19-3512.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Sangaldan District Ramban and Mohammad Khursheed, son of Mohammad Abdullah of District Doda.
A case under FIR Number 88/16 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station laid a naka near Ragoora and signaled a Tata Mobile vehicle to stop for checking.
Sensing trouble, the persons traveling in the vehicle parked it and started stone pelting. Taking advantage of stone pelting, the accused managed to escape from the spot.
During checking, police rescued three bovine animals and seized the vehicle.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Inspector Vijay Choudhary foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
