150 students selected in int’l placement drive at JU

JAMMU, Nov 2: The Placement Cell of the University of Jammu, in collaboration with Century Bank Brokers (CBB), Dubai, successfully concluded a two-day international placement drive held on November 1 and 2, 2025.
A statement said the drive, organized under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai, aimed to provide global career opportunities to students across departments, offsite campuses, and affiliated institutions.
The event, held at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Remote Sensing, received an overwhelming response with more than 500 participants.
Around 400 students were shortlisted for the final round, and approximately 150 were selected for placements with the Dubai-based financial firm.
A team of over 10 experts from Century Bank Brokers conducted interviews, while faculty representatives from various departments extended mentorship and support throughout the process.
Century Bank Brokers, a reputed financial services firm, specializes in acquiring asset and liability products for banks, including credit cards, personal loans, mortgages, and commercial lending products.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Chamak Banerjee thanked the University of Jammu for hosting the drive and mentioned that the company’s Chairman, Bal Krishen Rathore, hailing from Doda district, is keen on creating employment avenues for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof JP Singh Joorel and Dean Research Studies Prof Neelu Rohmetra encouraged students to seize international opportunities, develop global perspectives, and contribute back to their homeland.
Registrar and Dean Students Placement Dr Neeraj Sharma highlighted the university’s efforts in bridging the gap between academia and industry through such initiatives.
The Placement Cell, coordinated by Dr Aubid Hussain Parrey and supported by Training and Placement Officer Shilpa Chaku, reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more placement drives in the future to enhance employability and career prospects for students.
