15 yrs RI to accused in kidnapping, rape case

JAMMU, Feb 5: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court, Kishore Kumar today awarded 15 years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 50000 to Yash Paul, a resident of R S Pura, who facing trial in kidnapping and rape with minor.
After hearing APP Sarwesh Gupta for the State whereas Advocate Sandeep Gupta for the accused, Presiding Officer observed, “the offence of rape is barbaric in nature. The convict committed the ghastly, abominable, inhuman and barbaric act of rape upon her, violating the person of the minor girl and giving a lifelong trauma to the victim and her family”.
“In case of injury to a woman one can forget after some time but the act of rape cannot be forgotten till the victim is alive and she has to face humiliation on the society as well as in the family irrespective of her parental or in-laws”, the court said.
With these observations, court awarded 15 years Rigorous Imprisonment to the accused.
