UDHAMPUR, Aug 4: Police today arrested a shopkeeper and seized 15 rolls of banned Chinese thread from his possession.
Acting on reliable information about the sale of banned Chinese thread, a team from Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Raghuvir Singh conducted raid in a shops of kite seller in the town.
During raid, police team seized 15 rolls of Chinese thread following which the shopkeeper, namely Abhishek Gupta, son of Vikas Gupta, resident of H.No 167 near Pandav Mandir Udhampur was also arrested.
In this regard, a case under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Udhampur against the arrested person and further investigation is underway.
Udhampur Police has appealed to the general public to strictly avoid the use, sale, and storage of Chinese thread and warned that any violation will invite strict legal action.
