POONCH, Apr 27: The police seized a vehicle and rescued 15 bovine animals in Surankote area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that in two different instances, the police team of Police Post Behramgala during naka checking at Chandimarh intercepted and foiled two bovine smuggling attempts and rescued 15 cattle. A vehicle bearing registration number No. JK12A/9988 has also been seized.
The accused namely- Mohd Farooq, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Sailan, Tehsil Surankote in district Poonch has been arrested.
In this regard, two cases vide FIR No. 54/2025 U/S 223/BNS, and 55/2025 U/S 223 BNS have been registered at Police Station Surankote. Further investigation was in progress.
