JAMMU, June 12: Thirteen people sustained injuries when a matador they were travelling in turned turtle near the Ban Toll Plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after being allegedly hit by an army vehicle.
The incident happened this afternoon when a matador carrying Sudhmahadev yatris from Kot Bhalwal area was hit by an army vehicle near the Ban Toll Plaza, resulting in injuries to 13 people, a police official said.
He said the injured were immediately shifted to the Government Medical College Jammu for treatment in highway (108) ambulances.
The police official identified the injured yatris as Tilak (35) son of Gharu Ram of Anand Nagar, Jammu, his wife Priya (27), Ayush (9) son of Dev Raj of Bhalwal, Tina (10) daughter of Bhajan of Gajansoo, Marh; Pari (6) daughter of Dev Raj of Bhalwal, Rani Devi (31) wife of Dev Raj of Bhalwal, Bihari (36) of Bhalwal, Anita Kumari (15) daughter of Jai Kishan of Bhalwal, her brother Chetan Kumar (13), Pooja (27) wife of Tilak Raj of Anand Nagar, Sunita (30) wife of Mohan Lal of Kot Bhalwal, Payal (19) daughter of Bhagwan Dass of Kheri, Akhnoor, and Sushma (25) wife of Ajit Kumar of Maira Mandrian.
According to him, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigation has been taken up.
