13 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, May 22: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued 13 animals and arrested two smugglers.
Based on reliable information, a Police party led by Insp Urfaan Parveez under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Jagdev Singh Slathia,   laid a naka at Battal Morh, Majalta in Udhampur.
During naka checking, police  intercepted one truck bearing registration number  JK 20A-  4387. During the search,  13 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. Police rescued all the bovine animals and also arrested driver of the truck, namely Mukhtiar Ahmed,  son of Mohd. Kalu of Nonath Ghagwal,  Samba and his associate   Mohd Shafi,  son of Nizam Din of Salor Rankotte, Kathua.
Besides, Police also seized the truck and registered a case in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
