12 injured as tempo overturns on NH

RAMBAN, Nov 22: Twelve tourists were injured, three of them critically, when a private passenger vehicle overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH) today, near Ramsoo town.
According to the reports, the tourists were from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and they were on their way from Jammu to Srinagar in a tempo traveler bearing Registration Number PB01A-3631 when on reaching Ramsoo Bazaar at about 3 PM, the driver of their vehicle lost control over the steering due to a tyre burst and the vehicle overturned.
In the mishap, all the 12 passengers including driver of the vehicle received injuries. Locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. Meanwhile, police team from police station Ramsoo also reached the spot. They evacuated the injured passengers from the vehicle and rushed them to Primary Health Centre Ramsoo from where they were referred to District Hospital (DH) Ramban after providing first-aid. Later, doctors at DH Ramban referred three seriously injured women to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for specialized medical treatment.
The injured passengers were identified as Kanta Rao (57) son of Gunrata Rao, his wife Sarada (45), Badrinath (55) son of Supa Rao, his wife Sunita (45), Lakshmi (55) wife of Veru Parsad, Koteshrama (55) wife of Nalas Roa, Srinavasaran (58) son of Pulaya, his brother Vankata Rao (71), Mohni (46) wife of late Srinawasan Rao, Lalita Kumari (66) wife of Vankata Rao, Kalvi Parsad (40) son of Sedulu, all residents of Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh). The injured driver was identified as Majar Ram (45) son of Ajait Ram, resident of Shahpur (Jalandhar).
In this connection, a case FIR Number 135/2021 under Sections 279/337 of IPC was registered at Ramsoo police station and further investigation started.
