JAMMU, Nov 29: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ramban Kuldeep Singh today ordered suspension of 12 driving licenses for different violations of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).
The licenses have been suspended on recommendations of the officers of Traffic Police and Motor Vehicles Department.
The offences include overloading of passengers in the vehicles, driving without helmets, carrying excess luggage, carrying goods in contract carriage and over-speeding.
The licenses have been suspended in terms of Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 read with Rule 21 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991 and as per the recommendations of the officers for a period of three months.
