12 bovines, 2 vehicles seized

RAJOURI, June 24: In two separate incidents, the police seized 12 bovine animals being transported illegally in Rajouri district during early hours today.
Official sources said that during Naka at Lam, under Nowshera, the police intercepted a Bolero vehicle, bearing registration number JK11E-0598. During checking of the vehicle, two bovine animals were found loaded in it without any valid permission.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 82/2025 under Section 223 BNS and Section 11 of the PCA Act was registered at Police Station Nowshera. Further, investigation is in progress.
During another Naka at Sasalkot, on link- road to Rajouri, a police party signaled a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-0651. The vehicle was on its way towards Rajouri. The vehicle was found to be carrying ten (10) bovine animals.
The driver fled the spot and the bovine animals were being transported without valid documents. In this regard, a case FIR No. 328/2025 under Sections 223 and 303(2) BNS, read with Section 11 of the PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station, Rajouri. Search for the accused was underway, the police said.
