11 vehicles seized for illegal mining in Jammu district

JAMMU, Mar 9: Eleven vehicles, including JCBs and dumpers, have been seized for their alleged involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of mining material in different locations of the Jammu Rural Police Zone.
In one of the operations at Jad area conducted by a team of Police Post Jourian along with Naib Tehsildar Jourian, several vehicles, including a JCB, two JCB Rangers, Tipper, and four dumpers were seized.
In another action at Chinnore, the Police Post Chinnore seized one tractor trolley involved in illegal mining without valid permission.
Similarly, a tractor trolley involved in illegal mining activities without permission was seized by a team of Police Post Pounichak.
In a separate operation, a team from Police Post Pallanwala seized a tractor trolley found loaded with lime stone without valid documents permission to transport the mineral.
Post seizure, all the vehicles were handed over to the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Jammu for further necessary legal action under the relevant provisions of the Mining Laws.
