11 injured in road accident

RAJOURI, May 28: At least 11 persons were injured in a road accident in Badal area of Kotranka today.
Sources said that a tragic road accident occurred on Wednesday evening in Badal area under the jurisdiction of Kotranka Police Station in Rajouri district, resulting in injuries to eleven individuals.
The accident involved a head-on collision between a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-8898 and a Tata Magic Auto with registration number JK11H-7306.
Police said the Tata Mobile was on its way from Badal to Kotranka, while the Magic Auto was travelling in the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided near Badal Puli, leading to a severe crash that left all eleven occupants of the Magic Auto injured.
A police team led by DySP Shrafat, Nawaz with the assistance of local residents, promptly reached the scene and shifted the injured to the Government Hospital in Kotranka.
The injured were identified as Nagina Kausar, daughter of Shalal Ahmed; Farzana Kausar, daughter of Mohammad Tafail; Zaheer Khan, son of Mohammad Sadiq; Rifta Kausar, daughter of Mohammad Iqbal; and Abrar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Altaf, all residents of Karag. Other injured include- Kawaid Ahmed, son of Najam Din, and Ghulam Mohammad, son of Nadir Khan, both residents of Larkutti; Dilshad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Din from Jaglanu; Mohammad Afwaz, son of Mohammad Afzal from Karag; Rubani Shah, son of Iqbal Hussain Shah from Kotranka; and Mohammad Aslam, son of Mohammad Hussain, resident of Daraj.
Of the total injured, nine individuals who sustained serious injuries were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri. Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident.
