JAMMU, Dec 2: Police today rescued 11 bovine animals being smuggled from Jammu to Valley and arrested two persons in this concern.
On specific information regarding transportation of Bovine Animals from Jammu District to Valley, a police party of police station Satwari headed by Incharge Police Post Gadigarh, Sub Inspector Shouket Khan, laid a Naka at Gadigarh.
During Naka checking police stopped a truck bearing registration number JK01S – 9318. However, the driver of the Truck sped away the truck and tried to escape. The police chased the truck and was able to stop the truck after brief chase. On checking of the truck it was found to be loaded with 11 bovine animals (9 buffaloes and 2 oxes).
Both truck driver and conductor namely Tariq Ahmed son of Abdul Razak of Watlab (Sopore) and Tanveer Ahmed Ridhi son of Mohd Rajab Rishi of Mundji (Sopore) have been arrested and truck seized.
The arrests were made by Incharge, Police Post Gadigarh, SI Shouket Khan and SHO Satwari, Inspector Manjeet Singh. The Naka was laid under the direct supervision of SP South, Sehjad Salaria and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand.
