11 bovines rescued

KATHUA, Apr 18: While continuing its drive to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smugglers under the directives of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal police teams of Kathua and Hiranagar Police Stations (PS) rescued seven and four animals respectively under their jurisdiction today.
A team of Police Station (PS)Kathua succeeded in foiling another bovine smuggling bid and rescued seven bovines and also seized the vehicle.
Police said a team of PS Kathua under the supervision of Inspector, Vijay Kumar SHO while on Naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area near Saktey Chack noticed a vehicle bearing Registration NumberJK08B-8605 being driven by the unknown person. Sensing danger the driver stopped the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled away.
On thorough checking, seven bovines were found loaded in the vehicle. The police rescued them and seized the vehicle on spot.
A case FIR No. 183/2021 US 188 IPC,11PCA Act was registered in concerned Police Station and further investigation into this matter has been initiated.
Meanwhile police team of PS Hiranagar foiled bovine smuggling attempt in its jurisdictional area and rescued four bovines and seized the vehicle as well.
Today, a Police team under the supervision of Inspector, Anil Kumar Sharma while performing routine vehicle checking duty in its jurisdictional area near Londi Naka noticed a suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number JK20A-1458 .Sensing danger, driver of the vehicle stopped the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled from the spot.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found loaded in it illegally. They were rescued and the vehicle was seized.
A FIR under relevant sections of the law was registered against the driver.
