UDHAMPUR, Nov 19: Police today rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kud.
Based on a reliable input, a Police party led by SHO Kud Raghubir Singh laid a surprise naka in the wee hours and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-0797.
During through search of the truck, 11 bovine animals were found loaded inside the vehicle in a cruel manner. Police rescued the animals and arrested both the smugglers namely Liaqat Ali of Kehri Bishnah Jammu and Surjit Singh of Sangoor Reasi.
Police also seized the truck and registered a case in this connection.
