JAMMU, May 8: The police seized eleven bovine animals being smuggled via Mughal Road to Kashmir valley and arrested four persons in this connection last night.
A police spokesman said that a police party led SHO Rajinder Katoch intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle JK-11A/2061 and seized two bovine animals loaded in it. The police also arrested a driver and his associate in this connection. The police identified them as Rajinder Pal of Sunderbani and Rattan Lal of Jaba village. They had no valid permission for transportation of animals and a case was registered in this connection.
Another police party led by SHO Nowshera, Y P Jamwal seized nine bovine animals and arrested two persons in this connection near village Kanara. Those arrested were identified as Mohd Latief, son of Abdul Rashid of village Khabla in Thanna Mandi and Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Ladoka village in Nowshera. They had to load these animals in vehicles for further transportation to Kashmir valley via Mughal road.
