SAMBA, Apr 17: Legal Metrology Department today booked 11 cases for violation of various provisions of Weights and Measure laws and realized a fine of Rs 10,800 from the defaulters.
A team of Legal Metrology led by Assistant Controller, Samba, Anita Sharma, conducted extensive checking at Samba and Bari Brahmana area and inspected various provisional stores, fruit and vegetable shops, hardware shops, goldsmith shops etc. A total of 11 defaulters were booked for violation of various provisions of Weights and Measures laws, which included a wire factory, feed store, welding shop, saw mill, two hardware stores, four provision stores and one `Atta Chakki’.
All the cases were compounded on the spot and a fine of Rs 10,800 was realized from the defaulters.
