RAJOURI, Jan 29: A 10-year old girl has been raped by a youth residing in her neighbour-hood at Potha village in Kalakote tehsil of Rajouri district.
The incident took place on Sunday when this minor girl was all alone at home. Her minor brother was out in the fields while mother had gone to sell milk to nearby village. The accused Mohd Shabir (21), son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Potha entered the house and sexually assaulted the girl. Then he escaped from the house. He also threatened the innocent girl to kill her if she dared to speak to her mother or anybody else.
The girl, however, narrated the matter to the mother last evening. The mother who is widow, then told her brother about the issue. The victim’s maternal uncle (Mama) and mother then moved to Kalakote police station today and lodged an FIR. The police shifted the girl to hospital for Medical examination and started manhunt for the accused.
When the police party raided the house of the accused, he had escaped. His father has also gone under ground. The police is looking for them.
