RAJOURI, Dec 10: Continuing its drive against illegal mining activities in district Rajouri, the police seized at least ten vehicles, involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.
Official sources said that police intercepted vehicle No. JK11-6373 (Tipper), driven by Arshad Mehmood, son of Mir Hussain resident of Nagrota in Rajouri; vehicle No: JK12A-6297 (Dumper), driven by Dheeraj Sharma, son of Satpal Sharma resident of Potha; JK11A-2879 (Tipper), driven by Waseem Ahmed, son of Munir Hussain from Nagrota; JK14F-1931 (Mahindra 407), driven by Nardev Singh, son of Des Raj from Ram Nagar; JK02AE-1525 (Tipper), driven by Parvez Ahmed, son of Mohd Yaqoob from Dhanor Jarallan Rajouri; JK02CU-2824 (Dumper), driven by Imran Choudhary, son of Mohd Nazir, resident of Kurhad Rajouri; JK02CQ-8812 (Dumper), driven by Kala Khan, son of Bhag Din, resident of Saranoo Rajouri; JK11H-9575 (407), driven by Mohd Tariq, son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Thanamang Tehsil Darhal; JK11B-2717 (Tipper), driven by Umar Farooq, son of Tariq Hussain, resident of Rajouri and vehicle No: JK20-0849 (Tipper), driven by Sadaqat Ali, son of Karam Din, resident of Aitti, Rajouri.
All the vehicles have been seized and further legal action has been initiated in accordance with the law.
