JAMMU, Aug 7: The 10-day long Buda Amarnath Yatra to start from here on August 9 after the first batch led by VHP international general secretary Champat Rai leaves Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for holy shrine in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district from here.
This was decided in a meeting of Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas which was held here today. The meeting was chaired by Surinder Mohan Aggarwal president Baba Amarnath Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas here today.
Giving details of the meeting Mr Aggarwal told Excelsior that Champat Rai and national convenor of Bajrang Dal Rajesh Pandey.
He said Niyas has made all arrangements for annual pilgrimage this year too and devotees from different parts of country are participating in this year’s yatra.
Aggarwal said both VHP and BD leaders will reach Jammu tomorrow and they will participate in the Bhoomi poojan at Yatri Niwas in the evening. The first batch of yatra will leave for holy temple of Buda Amarnath on August 9 and it will be led by Champat Rai.
The nine day long yatra will culminate on Sharavan Purnima falling on August 18 after the last batch of pilgrims perform darshan at the holy temple.
The meeting was attended by Naveen Sudan State convenor BD, Neeraj Douneray, Manoj Kumar Verma and Rajesh Bhasin.
