UDHAMPUR, June 11: Udhampur Police today rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested the accused smuggler and also seized the truck in which the animals were being smuggled to Kashmir.
Based on reliably information, a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur Mahesh Sharma laid a surprise naka near Jakhani on the National Highway in the wee hours and intercepted a truck on way to Kashmir.
In the truck, bearing registration number JK19-2085, Police found 10 bovine animals, which were rescued. The bovine smuggler, namely Mohd Mubshar of Chambalbas Banihal was arrested on the spot and vehicle seized.
In this regard, a case FIR number 216/2014 under Section 188/RPC 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
