UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: A motorcyclist died when his motorcycle skidding off the road and met with accident at Dasoinia Bridge Dhar Road, in Majalta area while seven passengers were injured when a minibus turned turtle at Choumpla. Here today.
Reports said that Chain Singh alias Mangu, son of Vidya Parkash Singh, resident of Nongla Dall Macheddi, Tehsil Lohai Malhar District Kathua, died when his Pulsar motorcycle (JK08R-2633) skidded off the road at Dasoinia Bridge.
Locals shifted the victim to PHC Majalta where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Meanwhile, seven persons were injured when a minibus turned turtle on the road at Choumpla Nallah, Patli Roundmail, Udhampur.
The minibus, bearing registration number JK14D-8147, was on its way from Tanal to Udhampur when it met with the accident near Choumpla Nallah. Police rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured were identified as Shavita Sharma (40) wife of Tara Chand of Ossu, Priya Sharma (18), daughter of Kartar Chand of Dhalpar Jaganoo, Suhani Devi (20), wife of Ashok Kumar of Dhalpar Jaganoo, Neelam Devi (40) wife of Late Suram Chand, Mangal Singh (45) son of Uttam Singh of Jagnoo, Janvi Sharma (14) daughter of Nek Ram of Jaganoo and Radhika Devi (20) of Roundomail. Condition of all of them was stated to be stable.
