POONCH/ RAJOURI, Oct 23: A Principal of Govt Higher Secondary School was killed while at least seven persons were injured in separate road accidents in Rajouri and Poonch districts today.
A police spokesman said that one person was killed while three others injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle rolled down the road and turned turtle in Lassana area of Surankote this morning. While Principal of a Govt school Mohd Latief (48), son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Lassana was killed on the spot, the three injured persons were referred to Poonch hospital. Their condition was stated to be stable now. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when their bike was hit by a Tempo Traveler No. JK-11/ 5639 at Inayatpura in Nowshera area today. The injured Zulf Iqbal, son of Mohd Rashid and Mukhtar Hussain, son of Salam Din, residents of Bagnoti village were admitted to Nowshera hospital and later referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
Two persons, Rajesh Sharma, son of Moti Lal and Saroop Paryal from Lamberi were injured when an Alto car JK02AN/2591 and another passenger vehicle collided near Lamberi this afternoon. The injured were removed to Sunderbani hospital where Rajesh was referred to GMC hospital Jammu. The police have registered cases for investigation.
