1 killed, 5 injured in mishaps

Srinagar, Sept  6: One person was killed and five others, including two minor sisters, injured in different road accidents across the Valley today.
A police spokesman said a motorcyclist, Mohammad Amin Pandith,  son of Ghulam Ahmad of Harwan, Srinagar, was critically injured when a DPS school Bus, JK01R/6026, hit him at Rawalpora in district Srinagar. Pandith was removed to SKIMS, Soura, for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A Tata Nano driver was injured when his vehicle,  JK03C/9047, skidded off the road at Sethar in district Anantnag. The spokesman said the driver was identified as Rayees Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Salam of Mehandi Kadal, Anantnag. Bhat was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Two minor girls were injured when a Tata Mobile, JK04B/1426, driven by Mohammad Ashraf Yatoo son of Ghulam Qadir of Hayatpora, Chadoora in Budgam district hit them at Wathoora.
The spokesman said Yusharat, 9, and Sabreena, 7, both daughters of Javid Ahmad Waza of Wathoora, Budgam were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Chadoora, for treatment.
A commuter, Riyaz Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi of Ikhrajpora, Rajbagh in Srinagar district was injured when a Tata Sumo, JK05B/6952, hit him near Snow land Sonamarg in Ganderbal district. Mir was shifted to Public Health Centre, Sonamarg for treatment, the spokesman said.
In another accident, a school bus, JK05A/4022, hit a motorcycle, without registration number, at Shanger Gund, Sopore, and injured the motorcycle rider, Khalid Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Peer of Babagund Sello. The injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment. The police spokesman said cases have been registered in these accidents.
