POONCH, Aug 19: One person was killed while three others were injured when a tractor trolley was over turned near Mendhar today.
Reports from Mendhar said that the mishap took place when a tractor trolley loaded with `Shameyana’ and furniture of a tent house was on way to Mendhar from Harni area. When it reached at Dhar Kas area, the driver lost control and the tractor was landed into the road side field and over turned. While a 16-year-old boy was killed on the spot, the three others were injured and removed to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar.
The deceased has been identified as Wajahat Hussain, son of Mohd Riaz, resident of Ari in Mendhar. When the police party led by SHO Abid Raffiqi was busy in rescue operation, the SHO asked the other people not to disrupt police in its operation and stay away. Upon this, some people objected to the comments of the police officer and had heated arguments and minor scuffle with the cops there.
Later, they blocked the road and started protest disrupting movement of the traffic for about an hour. The police detained one Mohd Nazir Khan for allegedly manhandling one of the Policemen during rescue operation. The matter was resolved with the intervention of SDPO Riaz Tantray.
