UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: A youth died while his two friends sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in, met with an accident near Phalata area of Udhampur on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the police report, a Maruti Baleno bearing registration number HP62C- 1297 was on way from Jammu towards Udhampur. in a rash and negligent manner. Near a Police naka at Phalata, the driver apparently lost control over the vehicle which subsequently rammed into roadside parapet causing the accident.
As a result of the crash, driver of the car and two other occupants sustained serious injuries. The trio was immediately shifted to District Hospital Udhampur where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified as Mushfiq (23), son of Ishtaiq Parevez, resident of Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The injured, namely Akhiles Khajuria (22) son of Ashok Khajuria of Jammu and Akash (23) son of Ashwani Kumar of Louer Roop Nagar Jammu, are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Rehambal Police have registered a case in this connection.
