1 killed, 13 injured in road mishaps

UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: In two separate accidents, a youth died and his two friends were injured when their car rolled down into deep gorge near Morha Tikri while 11 persons sustained minor injuries when a minibus turned turtle on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Sarora near Tikri, this evening.
Reports said that an Alto car, bearing Registration Number JK02BF-9175, rolled down in a deep gorge near Morha Tikri resulting into death of Vishal, son of Duni Chand of Chinore and serious injuries to his two friends.
The injured, identified as Romesh (25), son of Gandharav of Mubarak Mandi Jammu and Ganesh (30), son of Charan Dass of Bishnah, were rushed to PHC Tikri, from where they were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious condition.
Meanwhile, 11 persons were injured when a minibus, they were travelling in, rammed into a parapet and turned turtle on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Sarora near Tikri, late this evening.
The minibus, bearing Registration Number JK06A-2692, was on way from Doda to Jammu when it met with accident at Sarora. A team from Police Post Tikri, led by Incharge PP Tikri, Inspector Jaswinder Singh, reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to PHC Tikri for treatment.
The injured persons were identified as Sadiq (34), Mohd Rafiq (32), Raj Mohd (35), Mohd Ashraf (35), Salima Bano (34), Halna Bano, Iqrat, Abdul Rashid, Mohd Hasrat, Aslam and Aqib.
All are residents of Doda and some of them are relatives. They were on way to Jammu for attending a marriage function. Their condition was stated to be stable at PHC Tikri.
