1 dies, 7 injured in road accidents

Srinagar, May 26: One person died, while seven persons were injured in different road accidents in the Valley.
A police spokesman said an unknown vehicle hit and injured a cyclist, Tufail Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Hamid Bhat of Tresa Safapora near Wangipora Sumbal in Bandipora.
“He succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to a hospital,” the spokesman said.
Three persons were injured in a collision between an auto-load carrier and Maximo mini-van, both without registration numbers, at Gundipora Sopat crossing. All the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment, the spokesman said.
A motorcyclist and his pillion was injured when their motorcycle, JK18/3157, collided with a Sumo, JK02X/6861, at Kund crossing in Qazigund.
The spokesman said the injured was identified as Ashiq Yousuf and his pillion, Mudasir Ahmad Mir, both residents of Agroo in Qazigund. Both the injured were shifted to Qazigund Hospital for treatment.
Two passengers were injured when a vehicle, Tata Indica car, JK05A/6427, skidded off the road and fell into Authwatoo stream in Bandipora, the spokesman said.
