SRINAGAR, Jan 6: One person died and another remains in critical condition after they were allegedly buried under sand in the Achgoza area of Pulwama district today.
The victims have been identified as Arshid Ahmad Mir and Basit Shaikh, both in their mid-twenties and residents of New Colony Pakharpora. “The duo was buried under sand at Achgoza, Romshu, sustaining multiple serious injuries. They were initially taken to PHC Keller and later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment,” authorities said.
Mir succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital. Following medico-legal formalities, his body was handed over to his family on the directions of the authorities.
Basit Shaikh’s condition remains critical. Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
