RAJOURI, Nov 5: A police party of Police Station Rajouri, while on routine patrolling duty at Link Road Mehra Rajouri intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK11C-4822 coming from Kotedhara towards Rajouri.
During checking two persons onboard were identified as Kundal Kumar Mandal, son of Vasu Dev Mandal, resident of Bhimpur Supaul, Bihar, at present Kheora, Rajouri; and Dashrath Kumar Sharma, son of Ram Saroop, resident of Nagpiprai Supaul, Bihar and at present Kheora, Rajouri.
During checking of the scooty a black polythene bag containing Ganja/ narcotic substance weighing about 1.4 kilograms was recovered from their possession.
A case FIR No. 549/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri in this regard. Both accused have been arrested and investigation is underway.
The forward and backward linkages of the accused are being investigated to trace their associates and identify the source and destination of the contraband, police said.
