1.12 lakh perform darshan at Budha Amarnath shrine

POONCH, Aug 2: At least one lakh and twelve thousand pilgrims performed Darshan at Shri Budha Amarnath shrine at Mandi since the commencement of annual yatra on July 20.
On the last day of the pilgrimage, over 10,000 pilgrims performed darshan at the shrine. The highest number of over 30,000 yatris reached Mandi along with holy mace yesterday. Many of them returned after performing Darshan while rest will return tomorrow. The head priest of the Dashnami Akhara Mandir, Poonch who was leading the Chhari Yatra was still at the shrine. He will return tomorrow.
The local Army unit of Rashtriya Rifles  and an NGO/ Shrine Management  Committee have arranged Langars. The people from majority community have also arranged facilities for the devotees there. The entire Mandi town and the Shrine has been highly decorated on the occasion of Shravan Purnima.
SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain, officiating DC Anwar Hussain, Addl SP Yougal Manhas and other district officers also visited Mandi and were closely monitoring the arrangements including security of the pilgrims. Additional security personnel were deployed in last 2-3 days witnessing high rush of the pilgrims.
Majority of the pilgrims who visited shrine in last two days hailed from various districts of Jammu region, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Maharshatra and Rajasthan.
The head priest 1008 Swami Vishavatma Anand Saraswatiji Maharaj also delivered sermons at the shrine today and a large number of pilgrims listened to his sermons. Many Sadhus assembled from various parts of the country also joined this grand religious congregation. The Army was according full assistance to the pilgrims and also offering water and eatables at the Langar from their own resources. The local organizations and the district administration highly lauded their role.
