JAMMU, Nov 11: Vishal Cricket Club and Simula Cricket Club registered wins and entered into the next stage of the league round of the 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, which is being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club at Parade ground, here today
In today matches, Senior Cricketer Ashwani Gupta was the chief guest while Vikrant Sharma Cluster Programming Head J&K 92.7 Big FM was the guest of honour who were introduced with the participating teams.
Earlier, in the first match Vishal Cricket Club defeated Star Eleven by a huge margin of 68 runs. Batting first, Vishal Cricket Club scored 156 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Rakesh Koul scored 59 runs with 6 fours and Kamalpreet Singh made 45 runs.
From bowling side, Asif took 3 wickets, Ajay scalped 2 wickets while Irshad pocketed 1 wicket.
In reply, Star Eleven bundled out at paltry 88 runs for the loss of all the wickets thus lost the match by 68 runs. Nitin with 37 runs and Ajay with 17 runs were the main scorers.
For Vishal Cricket Club, Rohit took 3 wickets, Rajesh Gill, Rakesh Koul and Anmol Manhas scalped 2 wickets each while Sandesh took 2 wickets.
Rakesh Koul was adjudged as Man of the match for his brilliant half century.
In another match, Simula Club trounced WCC Kashmir by 7 wickets. Batting first WCC scored 105 runs for the loss of all the wickets. Vikas made 36 runs, while Raju scored 23 runs and Chander chipped in 10 runs.
For Simula Club, Ritik took 3 wickets, Sahil Sharma and Thapa scalped 2 wickets each and Raman took 1 wicket.
In reply, Simula Club chased the target in 12.5 overs by losing 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Manjeet Singh scored 53 runs, while Puneet made 18 runs and Shashi scored 11 runs.
From bowling side, Sajid, Munna and Ritik took 1 wicket each.
Manjeet Singh was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Ajay.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Lakshmi Cricket Club will clash with Khalsa Club, while Horizon Club Samba will taken on Evershine Cricket Club.
