UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: State Level Inter Division Tournament for Boys & Girls in all age groups in the discipline Basketball got underway at Army Public School Ground, here today. About 140 Boys and Girls drawn from the State are participating in the tournament.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDU University Katra was the chief guest on the occasion, who declared the tournament open, while Sudesh Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur presided over the function and Sanjeev Kumar, Principal APS Udhampur was the guest of the honour on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed upon the participants to take part in the sports activities and be physically, mentally and socially fit.
The tournament is being organized by the department of Youth Services and sports under the patronage of Director General Youth Services &Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and under the overall supervision of Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Shkartar Singh, Manik Nargotra, Ranveer Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Ashutosh, Meenu and Pooja Devi.
In Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls Jammu emerged winner, while in Under-19 boys Jammu defeated Kashmir division and in Under-19 girls, Kashmir division got the beter of Jammu division to claim the titles.
