JAMMU, Mar 23: State Hockey Championship for VK Kohli Memorial Trophy, being organized by Hockey J&K got underway at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
Industrialist Rajiv Sharma was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony of the Championship which is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council. Rajinder Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey India and RGN Wani, social activist were the guests of honour.
In today’s matches, District Baramulla got better of Jammu Central by two goals to one (2-1), District Kathua blanked District Pulwama by (5-0), Jammu Cantonment crushed District Shopian by (5-0) and BSF drubbed District Poonch by (5-2).
The matches were officiated by MS Reen, Satvir Singh, Iqbal Singh, Sohail Azim, Manjeet Singh, Joginder Singh and Matinder Singh.
