*Inaugurates new facilities in Sports Stadium

Kathua, Sept 1: BJP State General Secretary and MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia has said that sports activities help to channelize the energy of the youth in positive direction, adding that Government is committed to promote sports activities and develop sports infrastructure in every nook and corner of the State. MLA was addressing a gathering of sports lovers during inauguration of new facilities in Sports stadiums at Barwal and Uttri with the expense of five lakhs and three lakhs respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia hoped that with new facilities, the immense sports talent in youth of the Kathua would further hone to enable them participate in national and international sports events. He advised the local youth to actively participate in sports, adding that such activities would keep them physically and mentally fit.He appealed departmental functionaries and other stake holders to further speed up sports activities in their respective areas and ensure that more and more students take part in sports activities so that their hidden talent is harnessed in right direction.Jasrotia assured that steps are being taken to build the sports infrastructure in the state with special attention to develop play fields in rural areas to prepare students for Nationals, for which students, parents and sports functionaries have to play their role”, he said adding that the government would provide every possible support to the organizers of sports events. Saying that education without co-curricular activities is in complete, Jasrotia said that sports are being introduced in every government as well as private educational institutions to exploit the sports talent of students.
